What good do illegal immigrants do for the US?

1. Americans will do the jobs that they do, just not for illegal wages that they are being paid. So they keep the real wages in this country DOWN.

2. They send most of their income back to Mexico, draining US Social Services and health care.

3. Public Schools are becoming overwhelmed with illegal imm. children getting free education on Taxpayer dimes...

4. Gangs, Drugs, Crime.

I like the way you ask this, and you are right on. There is no benefit to US, only them and their families and ultimately enrich their country while draining ours. Who cannot see this?

if you have to ask, you must have an issue with different races. If you don't see the value all people bring to our country, then maybe you should look harder and with a kinder heart. alot of immigrants send money home. alot of immigrants do the jobs we americans don't want to do. when is the last time you spent the whole day out in the fields picking the harvest, plan to soon? if you look at our prisions, most of the folks you find there are not from asia, or mexico ... there from here and most are black. but hey they don't put a drain on our economy do they? Or do they? we have our share of gangs, drugs and crime without the immigrants. again look to our jails and prisions and tell me the majority of the population there is mexican or whatever. the majority is black americans. besides, these folks for the most part to contribute, they pay taxes, they pay rent , they buy from our stores and shops. free education for their kids, wasn't your education free? in the process of paying those taxes, some goes towards education. when they buy property (housing), property taxes contain monies that go toward schools. so I think I've just about debunked your thoughts. so are you sorry? say you're sorry!

So many benefits, the mind boggles under the strain.

Gang membership might decline without them
Crime rates would drop and force us to lay off good police offices.
English as a second language would not be needed, thus all those special ed teachers would be unemployed.
Mexico would have to deal with its own problems and this would be a disaster.
Community activists would have to find a new cause, very disruptive.
Congressional democrats would have to put more effort into registering known felons to stay in power.

Well, this is just a sample, but I am sure you understand what a bad thing this would be.

I'd gladly pay 12 dollars for a cucumber so you can kick your hill billy behind out in the fields and sweat in the hot sun all day, and then draw your pension for 3 years before you die, and so you can pay enormous health care costs.
The fact is, most illegal workers won't go to a doctor unless it is an emergency because they can't afford to.
another fact is, most Americans won't do that work at normal wages.

Initially, they didn't cross any border, the border crossed them, The U.S fol owing the "Manifest Destiny" decided to take some territory from Mexico.
There were even war hawks that wanted to take over Canada. Imagine if we had all of Canada except Quebec, then all our illegal workers would speak french instead of Spanish..

Just after 9/11 happened, I read a letter to the editor saying, "When we find out which country did this, we should ship all their immigrants back to that country!" The man who wrote this had an Italian last name! Where were his ancestors during World War II?

The United States of America wouldn't exist without immigrants, "legal" and "illegal". Should we have closed the borders just after your kind came in?

You make a good point. A point that I have been trying to make for a long time now! No one will listen though. My husband works a hard job everyday and he is white. I know he would mow lawns or do anything he had to, to support his family. So, when people say that mexicans are doing the jobs we don't want to do that is just bull sh it. ^.^ I think they all need to go home. That would cure a lot of the US's problems. Gang Violence, robberies, rape, murder. It all increased as immigration increased. And I think the troops that are at the border should be fully armed and able to protect our borders, not only be allowed to tell them to go away. Sheesh. Good point.

If we had to pay union scale wages to crop workers that 69 cent can of beans would cost 3 dollars. I'm not saying its a fair trade off, but it is a benifit.

If their working construction, lawn care, moving companies, etc, they need to be kicked out.
