My dog has a bark collar and it works fine. He still barks his head off at everything that moves (and some stuff that doesn't) outside of my house. His bark is so loud that you can hear it on the second floor behind a closed door with pillows over your ears. I don't know why the collar isn't even (?phasing?) him. Is he getting high off the electricity, causing him to bark more? Is he used to it by now, and doesn't give a crap whether or not 20 or so volts are coursing through his body? Or is it something else? Help plz!

They don't bark without reason.he either wants something or is trying to alert you to something it's up to you to figure it out.
That bark collar is causing him discomfort and making him bark more cos he's trying to tell you he's in pain.Get it off him NOW.And from now on when your dog barks get off your lazy tail and find out what the problem is.If you don't want to listen to him bark then bring him in!

Some dogs have a high pain tollerance. A more humane way is to use a Citronella Collar. When the dog barks the collar emits citronella, dogs hate the smell and will shut up. There are also remote citronella collars that you can use to correct other behaviour problems that obedience training doesn't.

I would say his fur is too thick to let the current zap him. Try longer probes (if they are able to swap out) or I've also heard dogs hate the sound of about 10 pennies in an empty beer can. Shake it at him whenver he is barking and scold him with a gruff "NO".

Hey if you find a way that works, let me know.

My pit, black lab, chow and dane all continued barking through collors and even those high pitched machines. Nothing seems to work when they really want to bark.

try one of the bark collars that sprays citronella in his face. he may not be getting anything from the current bark collar.

OBEDIENCE TRAINING> Obviously this dog has a high threshold for pain, and he needs to understand that he is not allowed to bark. Don't expect products to do your training for you, you still need to give the dog discipline.
