It’s good to see many religious people admitting at last that they don’t really know if God exists or not, and that their belief in God is a matter of faith only. It’s good that more and more religious people are coming to grips with the fact that there is no verifiable factual evidence that God exists, and that they won’t learn the truth until they die.

It’s also a scientific fact that humans don’t know whether the universe was created or not, but as time goes on, I’m sure science will eventually discover the truth.

Religious people tell me, how do you know that the Bible is the word of God, and not a series of manipulating texts written by man for the purpose of power and control over the masses?

If you are unable to provide any verifiable factual evidence that God exists in the first place, what verifiable factual evidence do you have then, to prove that the Bible was inspired and/or written by God?

You ask a question you already know the answer to- that there is no verifiable factual evidence.

I get a real charge out of responders that say something like: "The Old Testament had all these prophecies about the coming savior, that Jesus fulfilled. That proves he is god." LOL.

Duh... writer decides that he wants to write a fictional account of a savior that fulfilled prophecy... gets copy of scripture... makes a list of the prophecies... writes fictional narrative account that incorporates fictional fulfillment of prophecies.

And this proves... what, exactly?

That reminds me of the story of the story of the guy who was walking down the street with a companion. Every 5 minutes or so he would stop, turn around 3 times, then smack himself in the forehead. After the 2nd or 3rd time, his companion asked "What the heck do you keep doing that for?" The guy replied, "It keeps the tigers away." Companion says "There aren't any tigers around here." Guy says, "See?"

Oh... by the way... modern biblical scholarship makes a very compelling case for the idea that Jesus never existed... that he was, in fact, entirely fictional.

And you proof to the contrary is what? And please don't tell me that the lack of proof is in fact proof.

Also, I am curious of your source(s) that indicate that many religious people are admitting they really don't know if God exists....the belief in God has always been based on faith. Again, how can you prove the unprovable? Do you have a special way?

There is no conclusive proof that black holes exist, only mathematical calculations...the same with suspected planets out side of our solar system. But my guess is you believe black holes exist. And how about evolution? Most people mistakenly believe that Darwin proved evolution. In reality, go to any library and you will discover that every creditable book (meaning scientifically based) on the subject is referred to "the theory of evolution". It has neither been proven nor unproven. So, do you believe in evolution or not. And if so...where is you verifiable, indisputable proof that you have it is true?

Simply a reality check and to agree to disagree.

there's a good question. the respond, we don't. you are able to no longer use any extract from the bible to justify this question the two, that's the place a great style of the justification comes from many times. Cool question bro the place became Jesus contained in the twelve months 2000 as properly? Wasn't he meant to return? there is one massive hollow contained in the tale. actually there's some...

like i answered in some questions is that faith is hard thing for people...either u have faith or not. So you can choose to believe in it if u want. If you don't then that's your choice. I believe it's true cause there has been factual evidence and i have faith in God and i love him very much. If your really that interested in factual evidence look it up.

If a person were to take the time to sit down and read the Old Testament, they would find hundreds of prophecies about the coming Messiah. Literally, hundreds. Then you flip over to the New Testament, and see that Jesus Christ fulfilled these prophecies. These books, old testament and new, were written hundreds, sometimes even thousands of years apart. But few people want to take the time to really investigate this. They want to dismiss the bible out of hand.

Personally, my belief that I can trust the bible as the word of God came from my diligent study of it, over many years. I saw the things proven in my life, in my heart, all around me.

I leave it up to each person to decide for themselves, what they believe about the bible.

The Bible is a combination of writing by different people and then editted by other people and then translated but other people. God's word is in it but God did not write the Bible. Man wrote the Bible and Man is not perfect. Man makes mistakes, Man misunderstands, Man misinterprets.

It`s true our belief in God is based on Faith. But from many things happening around us,i want to say this belief should go beyond Faith because God exists.

Many people have confessed the works of God in their lives. Some tell how they have been working with the devil, killing GOD`S creatures, and how God arrested them and set them free from all these acts.some people confess how they have used the name of Jesus to to cast out diseases such as AIDS or to drive unclean spirit.this is true because the bible says"at the mention of that name(Jesus) every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is lord.so,read the bible and compare with the many things that happen around us and you will believe that God exists.if the things in the bible seem to happen around us today, then the bible must have been written with inspiration from an extraordinary being who is GOD. Many text books have been revised over and over adding annd subtracting ideas but the bible has never changed.i think it is a DEVINE BOOK FROM GOD.
certain things happen and you may think they`re just a coincidence but i tell you God is the author.my fiance`s brother used to give me money only when i told him i would travel.no matter how often i went to visit him.he did not change his attitude.one day i was desperate and badly in need of money.ne was the only one i could go to.i fear God and did not want to say i will travel when it wasn`t true.so, i prayedto God as i went to see this guy.i just !As i was leaving this guy,he said hey have this...it was money.i did not tell him i was travelling.so,at times we just need to call upon God(in prayer) and see that he is there.

Yes assuredly I say, God does exist.

I have had a personal relationship with Him for the past 37 years, and so have billions of others down through the centuries. In order to know someone, they have to exist.

Someone once asked one of the early Mormon leaders, i think Brigham Young, whether he believed the Bible contain's God's word.

The answer was something like "I believe the Bible to contain the word of God and the word of man, the word of angels and the word of demons and even the word of one brute beast."
