You can buy it over the counter, but I'm not sure what age the puppies can be before deworming. It should say on the box. You can also call your vet and ask at what age puppies can be dewormed. You don't necessarily have to go to the vet for your dog and puppies to be dewormed.

There is quite no such worm as a "belly" worm.Waht your vet used to be almost always refering to is roundworms (ascarids). These worms are lengthy white/off white worms like spaghetti. You may also or would possibly not see them.Generally they're handiest detected by way of a feacal scan. Pups need to be wormed typically..2, four, 6 & 8 weeks of age after which periodically unless they're a 12 months historical, then at the least every year after that (twice a 12 months is better). There are a few varieties of worms normal to puppies..Roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, tapeworms. The only ones which might be mostly seen are tapeworms, unless a canine/puppy is improperly infested.

You can buy Nemex at the supply store. It is the SAME thing as STRONGID!!!!!!!! They are BOTH PYRANTEL PAMOATE. That is the ingredient you need to use...and it kills roundworm and hookworm. DO NOT get the piprazine wormer, that can be harsher and not work as well. The puppies and mom should be wormed every 14 days for a total for three to four doses.

AGAIN for all the idiots that keep saying you have to get STRONGID....NEMEX AND STRONGID ARE THE SAME INGREDIENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Follow the dosage on the bottle, it goes by weight. Give a little extra to account for the amount that they will spit out.

IF you want to, get SAFEGUARD wormer from the feed store or pet supply store. IT IS THE SAME AS PANACUR!!!!!!!!! They puppies are a little young. I do not do Panacur until the are 12 weeks, IF I have to give it. You probably just have a roundworm problem, so Nemex/Strongid is fine.
If you suspect anything after the second worming, take a fecal to the vet.

They sound like roundworms, which most all puppies get. OTC medicine is usually harsher on the puppies themselves and may only take care of part of your worm problems. See your vet to properly diagnose the right worm, they may just give you a broad spectrum wormer or one specifically for the type of worms. Also the vet will advise you on when you need to reworm. Some worms, initially only the adults are killed and the eggs get reingested, which starts the cycle over.

Also, note, that I was told via a Vet that 60 - 70% of fecal floats provide a false negative result. So the best action if you suspect worms is to give them a broad spectrum wormer like Pancur or Drontal plus (which includes tapeworm). You can only get these through your vet. Also, clean up all waste immediately after your puppies to prevent reinfection.

There is particularly no such malicious program as a "belly" malicious program.Waht your vet used to be most likely refering to is roundworms (ascarids). These worms are lengthy white/off white worms like spaghetti. You might or won't see them.Often they're simplest detected via a feacal scan. Puppies have got to be wormed by and large..two, four, 6 & eight weeks of age after which periodically till they're a yr ancient, then no less than annually after that (two times a yr is higher). There are a couple of varieties of worms ordinary to puppies..roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, tapeworms. The simplest ones which are ordinarily obvious are tapeworms, until a puppy/dog is wrongly infested.

there is fairly no such malicious program as a "abdomen" malicious program.Waht your vet became into probable refering to is roundworms (ascarids).those worms are long white/off white worms like spaghetti. you could or won't see them.many times they are purely detected by making use of a feacal try. doggies must be wormed many times..2, 4, 6 & 8 weeks of age and then periodically till they seem to be a twelve months old, then a minimum of each year after that (two times a twelve months is larger). There are countless forms of worms hardship-loose to canines..roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, tapeworms. the only ones that are many times seen are tapeworms, till a canines/puppy is wrongly infested.

Make sure you get the right stuff to treat the right worms. 3 in long and skinny pretty much covers what all worms look like

You can, but since pet store medicine doesn't kill all types of woms it's better to take a stool sample to your vet and find out what kind of worms they have.

Even if it's just roundworms, I think it would be cheaper to get a bottle of liquid Strongid-T from the vet, and easier to give it to the pups, than to get pills from the store. You'll need to worm them several times before they leave.

You can buy worm meds over the counter, but not a medicine that will kill hookworms, and those are the more dangerous of the parasites. The OTC kind usually only kill roundworms. Hookworms attach to the insides of your dogs and/or cats digestive track and suck blood. An infestation of them can kill small or infirmed animals. In Puppies it can rob them not only of needed blood, but also of iron which they need to grow and thrive.
