Anyone has experience of dating people with depression or anxiety? Will it be like riding a roller coaster? Everything is fine for us right now. He didn't tell me that he is taking it. ( I didn't see any point of telling either ). I just found bottle in the bath room

it's no big deal to be on antidepressants. he may be embarassed, so it's best not to draw attention to it. what ou need to know, however is that zolft has sexual side effects such as decreaded libido and inability to maintain an erection, and evern inability to reach orgasm. if your guy suffers from these things, you might have to deal with that down the line

Yes, I've been down that road before and it was not fun; he always said he was ok, but his actions told the real story. It was so hard to know how things were going to be with him; riding on a rollercoaster does not even describe it! To make matters worse, I found out that he was a womanizer. I just did not need the problems. To be honest, I could have dealt with the depression and anxiety because he was getting help for that; it's the womanizing thing that ran me away!

Zoloft is an anti-depressant, and is no need for concern. It has chemicals in it that allow his brain to function normally. Many times the need for a anti-depressant is temporary - once the brain chemistry is returned to normal, and the patient learns how to function - as in eating and sleeping properly, not fixating on every little thing and the importance of healthy self talk... they can be every bit as normal as any one else. People need not be afraid of anyone on Zoloft, or any other anti-depressant - they are wonderful drugs that allow people who suffer from temporary depression, again - which is the result of chemical imbalance in the brain - to function normally and resume normal activities.

Be thankful that your boyfriend was assertive enough about his total well-being to take some strides to insure his health is everything that it can be. I might be a bit more concerned about you snooping in his bathroom, but that is another issue for the two of you. When you feel that the moment is right in your relationship - talk to him about it and explore both of your feelings on the subject.

why were you snooping? was the bottle out in plain view? if so then maybe he wanted you to know without making it a big deal. if you were snooping then come clean and talk about it the key to making any relationship work is honesty and communication.
all relationships have their ups and downs. if you haven't noticed a problem before then I would say the meds are working so chill out.

well it obviously hasn't affected your relationship thus far. so don't let it bother you. just talk to him and make sure he's telling you the truth about everything and isn't hiding anything else...like another girl lol
