What they mean by that, is that the blood in you is from the same family they are in. It's a way of saying relation. Mom to kids, kids to cousins... Doesn't mean they have the same blood type however.

You are referecing two different terms for the use of "blood". In the "hood" - blood is representative of 'friends'- someone who is as close to you as a brother. Blood which runs through the veins has nothing to do with 'this' type of blood. You could almost just replace the name "friend" with "blood" - as in "what's up blood?" Then, there is the representation of blood in the veins which is relative to family - being in the same family or bloodline - Your cousin and you do share similar blood qualities (DNA, RNA) which makes you related "by blood", but your friend does not have the same bloodline you do - he or she has the bloodline of his or her own family. When you reference someone sleeping together and they are "blood" the reference made here is that the possibility of a child could be born to 'kindred" and the child could have some deformities, or other issues because in the scientific and technological sense -relatives don't marry or have children together because of the possible defects which could be placed upon the child. Historically, people did have children from their own cousins years and years ago - however, it is a custom which has been frowned upon - particularly in our part of the world. I hope this answers your question.

You're taking things too literally.

The blood you are talking about refers to family. Sleeping with family (incest) is taboo in most societies.

There are four major blood groups, A, B, AB and O. Blood groups are inherited. Your cousin might have an entirely different blood group from you. Anyway, follow the link for a decent explanation of blood types and blood groups.

Are you trying to have sex with your own family members? That's gross. Just so you know, people aren't being literal when they say something like that They are trying to tell you that it's wrong. It has nothing to do with your blood type. It's what they call an expression. And, no, not everyone has the same blood. There are alot of different types. Even in your own family who you shouldn't be having sex with! That is called INCEST! Are you from Kentucky or something?

To the best of my knowledge, it's simply another way of saying that the person in question is a family member. The part about "her blood running through your veins" would be reference to a common ancestor, though people usually don't care about that if the first common ancestor is no eariler than 3 generations older than you (Ie, most people don't pay attention to familial relations if the only common ancestor is beyond that of your Great-Grandparents).

err well i suppose so. i mean, your dna is in your blood... and your dna comes from your parents and it defines who you are... and well i mean, pretty much everyone has unique dna.
and blood can vary in color and consistency.
there are people i know who have every color, sometimes wine colored, others a burgundy almost blackish. my blood is like bright carnation red, and some people think that's weird.
yeah i'm aware how creepy that was. haha but yeah, i guess everyone has different blood i just dont know if it's the same with every family member.

i'm confused now.

It's blood type not blood relation as in family. I'm a B negative, and I don'r know how common that type of blood is.

Well, yes technically blood is blood but your DNA that is in your blood connects you to your family because DNA is passed down from your parents and their parents passed certain genes to them and so on........

In the context you have offered, you are referring to the DNA molecules in the blood.
