if you are in the first 3 months, save your money, honey. if you feel badly, theen offer to pay for something small and incidental like a cab ride or something very cheap. going dutch early on is offensive. you can do better. a man who asks you to go dutch is a man who won't put his energy into you in the long run

The person who does the inviting should be the person who pays. If you are one of those women who is playing by "The rules" then supposedly you should never be picking up the phone to ask the guy out on a date, so you should never pay.

I don't think "The rules" are very enlightened. I think a male should call a female for the first, second and third date but after a third date the couple is "dating" and even if it is not exclusive the woman should call and ask the guy out at least every third time they go out on a date. On the occasions when the female asks the guy out on a date, the female should pay.

The other thing is transportation. If you feel uncertain about how a guy would feel if you offered to pay for the actual date, the next time he asks you out say "I'm don't feel like drinking this weekend, so why don't I drive". Fuel is so expensive these days that the cost of going to pick him up and taking him to the date, paying for parking and droping him off at home afterwards may end up equaling the cost of what he spent on you for the date.

Depends upon the situation. If this is a real date and not just a friendship thing then they guy should expect to pay. It is great if a girl offers to pay but a real man will still pick up the tab. The only time this doesn't apply is if the girl asks the guy out then she should plan on paying though I hope the guy at least offers to pay.

dutch? lol....no idea what that refers to...but i think it depends on the income of the 2 people...if the guy is jobless or raking in barely any money...idk...i mean..is it fair for him to be MORE broke to take you out to dinner...you dont want your ego to be in the way of being a sweet person and helping him out. But if you are both fine with money..i think the guy paying 1/2 the time and splitting it 1/2 the time...(or maybe him paying and the girl pays tip?) it depends on the 2 people

I say that the woman should definitely pay sometimes. The way my boyfriend and I do it is that he pays most of the time (he makes more money), but I contribute as much as I can. I will insist on paying sometimes. It's just the right thing to do.

I think a guy should pay for the dates in the beginning to impress you. After you two start going out exclusively then you should both take turns.

If it's a date, a guy should pay. For that, I will cook for him, clean the house, do his laundry and have his kids when we get married. However, it will never come to marriage if I'm not sufficiently impressed in the beginning. Being a good provider is one of the qualities that I'm looking for in a guy.

If you're in a relationship the woman should offer to pay some of the time.

I THINK IT IS GOOD FOR WOMEN TO OFFER TO PAY SOMETIMES. IF YOU'RE NOT DATING THEN YOU SHOULD ALWAYS GO DUTCH.
