im asking this because my father was relesed from jail today but his jail is 8 hours from home. do they just release u from jail and your on ur own?

It depend. Prisons usually give you a check and a ticket to get you home, most jails just release you, no money no nothing. PS=LOVE ALL MY LATINA SISTERS

well up here if you spend a year in jail you can demand 200 dollars and rifle and a horse upon release

Usually all an inmate gets is a ticket for a bus or train. That's if you're lucky.

im sure he'll be on some kind of probation afterwards. he'll just have to start his life over again, and try not to make the same disicions.

no they just dont let you go, you have to have a home-plan. they do give you a bus ticket home, more questions e-mail me
