Yes you can have an intimate friendship with someone without sex....but I do warn you if sex is involved down the road, more than likely, it will change things...not always for the worse though.....(example)

I met someone when I was thirteen he was fifteen we had been friends for years whenever I had a problem he would always call like he knew...He was one of my best friends...He knew every intimate detail of my life from what I liked for breakfast to what I aspired to be when I grew up....One day many years later he told me He liked me in a more than friends way I freaked I thought that our friendship was ruined I kept ignoring his advances but on a chance night we hooked up in a biblical sense and have been together ever since then....We have been married for some time now and have a beautiful boy together....

see changed the relationship totally ........

Yes, of course it's possible to be very intimate and deep friends with people without even considering sex! I (as a male) find that I tend to make more meaningful and open relationships with women. Most of my male friends are not very deep ones - though long-standing.

Yes, 'sleeping together' does change the relationship. I am not quite sure how - it's quite subtle. To share one's body with someone is something very special.

Moving back to the relationship you had before is the most difficult thing. I am not sure that many people could ever do that once one had made love.

i have lots and lots of male friends wich i love completely and we have been friends for years, yet i still make lots of male friends everyday, and i have never slept with any of them. And i am straight though and have a boyfriend too, but still we do not go to the full...

a relationship doesnt mean sex.

Yes sex can bring two people closer together, because you give a piece of yourself to that other one. Something you cannot take back and that is what feels missing when you break up.

Yes you can have intimate relationships without sex, wich means really bonding emotionally first and communicating (and ofcourse playing around and experimenting in a way without intercourse will keep the relationship warm without burning out too quickly by just giving phisical sex - if you have a erotic relationship and not just a friendly platonic one).

Sex really makes two people feel different about each other. sometimes for the good, but mostly turns out bad, for he will see, if you do it with him, why not others and then trust become an issue when you want to go out with friends...

I have a friend that we are intimately close friends and we once slept together but decided that we were better as close friends. It didn't ruin our relationship but with some people it can be a problem. So in other words it's possible.

I've had a really close friendship with a boy before. The only problem was that I ended up falling for him and the feelings where not there on his end. But we never had sex together.
But I have heard of people that have had close friendships with the opposite sex and it's never been anything but that. So it is possible.

Yes I have and it was great! It didn't last though, physical attraction won out and a short but intense relationship followed. I lost a great friend afterwards. It was like all the fun you could have over a lifetime packed into a few short months and then the realization that it wasn't right at all and then a kind of emptiness that still hurts when I think about it... Wouldn't change a minute of it though!!!

Yes you can. Sleeping together would be something that you would want to make really sure about before proceeding. If neither of you are attached then it would probably work out but if you were cheating it would be only a matter of time before you were caught.

I'm really good friends with two men, and they are the best.. Sure at times I wish I could get closer, but I know that would ruin our frienship, especially if the sex turns out to be great...then a few people would get hurt..meaning our significant others.

Yes, it's possible, although hard. Yes, sleeping together would change it, and would either drive them away completely after they realized what happened (either fast or slow) or it would kick off a romantic involvement between the two persons.
