It’s a misguided notion, that has its origins in political correctness, that to disagree with ones beliefs is tantamount to hating those beliefs or hating those who hold beliefs counter your own. Most Christians are more than willing to vocalize dissent with a worldview that is in contradiction to their own. That does not mean that they hate Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, or people of any other faith.

To not articulate disagreement, when assertions merit disagreement, is not to be loving, but to be dishonest to oneself, and dishonest to others. Christians don’t hate others; we just love truth, regardless of how offensive it maybe to other people.

Thank you, thank you, thankyouthankyouthankyou! You're exactly right! How can they show such hatred toward people with other beliefs, and then deny their own hatred, like our dear Marianne (first response)?

Now, I'm not gonna say all Christians are hateful. But persecution of gays, lesbians, pagans, muslims... it's shameful. I'm glad to see someone with the balls to directly ask his fellow Christians this. My hat's off to you, ma'am.

And, ah... she's not generalizing all Christians, people. She is posing this as a question to people who hate and discriminate despite being raised on a belief that advocates universal love and acceptance.

There are so many examples of Christians arguing with and condemning Christians, and Catholics, and SDAs, and LDSs, and Muslims, and Jehovah's Witnesses, on here . . . I'm too tired to even think about all the examples. Are you Christians now saying that that hasn't all been said here? Did you pray away reality again?

I'm a good Christian, and I don't hate anybody. Everybody has just as much right to their own beliefs and I have to mine.

Just to be perfect like God and see ppl the way he looked at them with love. Beside if you hate you will lose the true meaning of being christian and miss the real Jesus's message.

Greetings!

People of all Traditions can wear their "firmness of Mind" and it can be perceived as "hatred"...ESPECIALLY if they are called to defend themselves, NOT against the misunderstanding of their tradition(s), but against blatant intolerance, etc.

Some people are not that far along in their Spiritual growth and development and will take offense at anyone attacking their foundation, therefore approaches such as this one isn't a good idea.

Peace

How can a smart person generalize a whole group of people like that!? I don't care what belief a person has I'm open-minded.

I don't hate anybody. Okay, I have a thing with my ex-wife but she was a church lady. You know, the kind who points out others' faults while all the time running around on her husband. By the way, dear, is that a log or fake eyelashes?

Hatred? No. Disagreement? Yes.

And nobody says Christians are perfect. The only perfect person was Jesus Christ.

We sin, and we are forgiven, by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
