Dr. Gott's medical column recommends covering the tag with clear nail polish once a day for several days, and the tag usually drops off on its own, and doesn't return.

I saw a thing on Discovery Health where a dermatologist or aesthetician pokes them with a little needle (like electrolysis for hair) that runs an electrical current through the tags. They dry up and fall off in a few days. They can do a bunch in one session.
I don't know about pulling them off yourself. It's not like they're loose teeth. There's no Skin Tag Fairy. I say, go to a professional.

Go to a dermatologist. He'll use a cryotherapy freeze. Grab the tag with a tissue forceps, hit it with LiqOx (or whatever it is he uses) and awaaaay it goes.
If the tags are real small (less than 2mm at the base) you can even snip them off with a pair of sharp scissors or nail clippers. Make sure you have a bandaid and some anti-biotic ointment ready - you might get a drop of blood and you don't want the thing to get infected, no. Not much pain and quick.

Yes. Your GP can use liquid nitrogen on them (not as painful as it sounds), & they go within a week or 2. It may also be worth trying the new "freeze off warts" preparations that have come out recently - the worst that can happen is that it won't work. I used one for the first time yesterday (on skin tags) so I'm waiting to see the outcome.

What you need to do is get yourself some bleach, pumice, sea salt, phosphoric acid, and a lemon wedge. You start off by gently washing the area and be sure it is dry. Then gently apply the lemon juice - just a squeeze or two - DO NOT OVER DO IT - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Now take the bleach and apply to the affected area with a q tip and 3 drops of phosphorous acid. Gently rub the pumice until the tags are gone.

I went to a dermatologist and had some removed, he took tweezers, pulled, and cut with scissors.
It cost over $400 with the biopsy. The insurance company would not pay for removal becasue they are considered to be only a cosmetic problem. But since I had them removed, they had to be biopsied in case they were cancerous.
I saw this as a way to get more money out of me.

tie thread around the tag and knot it so it does not come off during your daily activities. After several days, the tag will lose circulation and the loose skin will fall off. Clean it throughly with alcohol. That has worked for people in the past.......

I had some as a teenager. I just put tissue paper over them and tore them off. I wouldn't recommend this practice though. Go to your doctor and get a minor procedure done.
