"Yak" is the easy answer, and "Yellow-(something)" is another:
- Yellow-belly slider turtle
- Yellow Jacket wasp
- Yellow warbler or perch or mongoose...

But how about:
- Yeti (OK, not really fair!)
- Yapok- the water possum from South America

OH MY GOD- check THIS link (http://zipcodezoo.com/Animals/CNY.asp )!

It has 978 animals that start with Y and I've never heard of most of them! (Of course, MOST of them are based on the color Yellow!)

I didn't think about Yorkie, but yak is good. Also, if you like to add the mythic touch, try yeti.
