I am very tall and have been losing weight very quickly due to a recent decrease in appetite. What can I do to gain it back quick. Please also list foods that you eat that make you gain fast!!!!!! Please help if only very little. I dont like thew way I look at all because it makes me look skeletal.I appreciate it greatly!

Weight loss and weight gain are two sides of the same coin.

Basically you need to take in more calories than you are expending in order to gain.

Choose foods that are nutrient dense. With higher fat, protien, and carbohydrate levels per ounce.

Normally I recomend people to "not just eat candy" and that you "still need to eat balanced meals", "just add one or two extra meals to your day"

But since you mentioned an appetite problem you may not do well with this advice. If you are only able to get a little food down a day go with the most calorie dense food you are able.

This will include:
Dairy: Full fat Milkshakes
Meat: Full fat sausage
Vegitable: Pumpkin pie
Legumes: Nuts & nut butters
One Dish: Quiche

If you can stand them drink "ensure" any time you can stand it.
Or try a "slim fast" bar, as an ADDED meal, not a replacement.

First see your doctor...you could have a metabolic anomoly, or a change in your normal chemical blood panels...like diabetes or hypoglycemia, even a thyroid disorder. But don't panic most of these can be changed with diet and or minor medications.

I would stay away from fast food...the last thing you need is elevated cholesterol and high blood pressure, from all the fat and salt intake. Eat protein, some pasta, I would suggest protein drinks like ensure...not slimfast, or weight gain. (My 2 yr old son has a genetic disorder and has yet to develop any teeth, so to get him to maintain a healthy weight we have to supplement him with pediasure, thank god, because it works!)

And stay away from a healthfood store...the last thing they have any knowledge of is "health"...most of their products are junk and can cause more damage than good (I tried to get into better health by going to GNC and they sold me ephedra (before it was illegal) I might as well have done meth...same thing) Also some of these places will push "natural remedies" which are not so natural. Some even sell steroids under the counter...so be careful.

look into your recent lifestyle...any new medications, new activities, have you joined a gym, a dance class? working out in the heat too long? I live in the desert so every summer I have no appetite...it's just to hot to think about food.

But most of all, talk to your doctor, have a routine blood screening, and ask for a referral to a certified nutritionist.

Oh, no, I'd have you go to the doctor immediately! If you don't know the cause of your decrease in appetite, then you must get checked out, might be a problem with thyroid, or a parasite, no way to know for sure without a doctor visit!

Once you're there, ask the doctor for a good eating plan if he's concerned about it, he should be able to help you. Good luck!

if u wanna gain weight ask me!!!!

well first, u have to eat a lot even if ur not hungry, just eat!! also, the best time to eat is right before u sleep ;)
the types of food u should eat are greasy, fatty foods, such as mcdonald's :p but at the same time don't overeat it, try to somewat stay healthy....
don't move a lot, try to just lay down the whole day!!

in short, they always say the key to losing weight is diet and exercise, so u just do the opposite...hehe

but unfortunately, sometimes no matter how much u eat u don't get any fatter (like my bro!!), it depends on ur body..

P.S. if nothing works, go to a nutritionist and he'll tell u wat to do i guess

well.... first of all why did u lose your appetite?? You may need to see a doctor to correct that problem. Go to GNC and get some protein shakes but you need to eat food too in order to gain some weight. Good luck!

Eat lots of foods high in protein like, chicken, fish, fresh veggies, fresh spinach. Also eat lots of carbs to gain weight.

Go to one of those Health stores, probably in a mall and they have protein drinks! Try Ensure! Its healthy and does help put on the pounds!!

Or try junk & fast food!!!!

automate your eating by planning your meals ahead of time that way you re less likely to make an unhealthy last minute food choice
