Its a very good point because racism has been unacceptable for far longer in liberal western society than disability prejudice.

In the UK there has been legislation against racism for many years with patchy enforcement but the Disability Discrimination Act has only just come into place

As an observation something that puzzles me even more is how one ethnic minority who have been the subject of racial prejudice and on the receiving end of abuse so readily take the opportunity to metaphorically kick a new immigrant community that move into their area and stigmatise them in exactly the same way that they themselves were stigmatised when the arrived

I wonder if its just human nature?

Any kind of cruel comment or attitude to anything that marks somebody as different is wrong. This certainly applies to disability. The real problem (you'll undoubtedly correct me if I'm wrong) is unwitting prejudice, like not allowing people access to public buildings - it's neglect, not abuse, but the end result is the same.

Best wishes.

A person who is both black and diabled would know best?

I would say prejudcie against the handicapped is much worse. because it makes no sense. There's nothing hate about handicapped people. You have a lot thanks handi capped people for.

They gave us power windows, power locks, and crusie control.
They gave us the elevator in the two story building.
And they will gie things in the future like speech recognition and smart houses; all things that were developed for or because of the handicapped

It is just plain rude but the key is to just take in one ear laugh it off and let it out the other ,,, I get so sick of hearing people of diff races cry racism,,,oh poor me ,,its cuz im ***** .listen we are all subject to unfavoratism at times its cuz we are all different ...I have had plenty of people show prejudism against me because of my disability.I have accepted the fact that it will never change , so i do the best i can with what ive got and to hell with anyone who doesnt like me because of my quickie2..I laugh it off and rise above it .We are all different im better than some and less than other and so goes for the rest of the human race.

The word is spelled "Compare"

I don't consider "Crippled Bastard" or "Black Bastard" to be "racist". Both are meant as put-downs, but both could also be accurate descriptions. The "Bastard" part is probably the most spiteful.

It's how you say it that gives it meaning. You could say it to a friend with a warm smile and a laugh in your voice and mean it to be a "tough guy" compliment. Or, you could say it with anger and mean for it to hurt. Your choice.

Hey, we are all people, just trying to get on with life the best we can, some people hide and pretend everything rosy, some people moan about everything, some people bully or want copious attention, some people are prejudiced to all people for whatever reason that's just who they are. Love everyone warts and all!

They are both abhorant but differet. Racism is based on a fear of strangers; prejudice against disability is based on fear of illness and death. Each can be expressed as a deep loathing,
