Are you talking about an adult? It depends on your dog. Mine are not dogs who ever over-eat so they always have food available. People who have dogs who don't stop eating should feed their dogs twice a day.

Twice a day and go by the dog age and weight that you will find on your dog food bag.

All dogs should be fed atleast twice a day. If you feed them one big meal a day, you increase their chances of having stomach/intestinal problems. Just follow the feeding guidelines on the bag and split that up into two meals. Your dog will be happier for it.

It depends on the dog. Some dogs eat small portions twice daily, some once at night in a big portion. My dog was always provided food as a puppy and it taught him to not overeat. Puppies, as well as babies do not "know how" to overeat usually.

I feed my dog once a day, but he always has moist doggie treats and dog biscuits in his bowls as well as water of course. I suppose it depends on the size of the dog.
