If every baby that ate his own poop were taken to the doctor, we'd have to double the number of doctors. If he shows signs of being sick, then worry about it. Otherwise, don't worry about it.
Remember, it is his own poop, which means he is not especially sensitive to the various bacteria in it. If it were poop from a homeless person, it might be something to worry about.

Unless your baby has some kind of illness or disease then a small amount of poop isn't going to hurt him. Just give him plenty to drink so he passes it from his system as quickly as possible.
Just keep an eye on him and if he doesn't show any signs in a day of being ill then you have nothing to worry about.
Good luck.

First of all poo is just the stuff your body didn't/couldn't digest, it will pass through the child system just as it did the first time.
(On a similar note there are certain movies on the market that show adults eating human waste and I don't think they would do it if it was dangerouse, so)
YOUR SON WILL BE FINE
P.S. It came out of your son right? so if it didn't hurt him the first time, it wont hurt him the second time.

It's all right. Kids have been sticking the most disgusting things in their mouths for ever. It's true the fecal matter could contain harmful bacteria - BUT since it's your son's own bacteria, he'll be fine. Honest.

I'm not a doctor, but I know that feces is very unhealthy to eat. If you think about it, it's waste from our body compiled up and released. I would definitely recommend taking him to the doctor to make sure everything is ok. Good luck, and I hope that he's ok :)
Also, it does not make you a bad mother... it's not like you did it purposely.

I'm sorry but i think your asking the wrong people here, your going to get all sorts of answers and not know who is right.
Not worth your son's health, call the NHS direct help line or your local hospital help line they should be able to tell you properly.
To adults we would be fine but your son's immune system will be very weak.

Babies are very curious, they investigate and want to discover their surroundings. They do so by taking all they come across to their mouths. So, what your baby did is very common. Try to calm down and see a doctor if this becomes a habit.
