Its nt a bad place and I've had no problems in the evenings there but I do hear that there is a big drug problem-not unlike most places these days though.

It was a very pleasant place the last time I was there, but you will need to steer clear of the town centre in the evenings. Like all town centres in England, the streets have been surrendered to the battle between the lager louts and the Police. The majority population have no chance.
The Melton Mowbray Pork Pie is something special. I even eat them, and I'm part Jewish!!!
Nottingham, in the last 30 years, has slid from being a vibrant city into a shopping resort by day, and a risk to life and health by night. Presumably, normal social life goes on away from the city centre, but Slab Square after 7pm is a nightmare. I'd like to know what Alan Sillitoe makes of it (a famous Nottingham author - he was no very complimentary about the town a few years ago in his book "Birthdays".

i replaced into in Melton very last week i purchased some from the unique pie shop, 2 straightforward pies and one with cranberry on authentic ,in case you basically like the beauty of cranberry i might want to point a huge piece of pie, a dollop of cranberry's and as beef pies are heavy a gentle salad is all it is significant. or pie basically with some fantastic sparkling crusty bread and butter of your determination and also you've a lot less washing as a lot as do.I also delight in Melton pies as a meal on it truly is own even as out fishing, filling and pleasant, want I say more desirable mmmmm

Its not a good place - it is quite violent especially in the evenings. Steer well clear of the local nightclub - Tubes. Nothing really positive to say about it apart from the fact it is near to Nottingham and the vale of belvoir

It's a handy little town to drive through on my way to work. 24 hour tesco, 24 hour BP petrol in competition with tesco. Only 1 speed camera on the inner ring road.
