***Dont give kitty way*** please try this
Call up apartment listings and an inquire about the place. If every thing meets your needs make an apointment to see the place. Dress well and be extra nice and polite.Only after seeing the place and YOU AND HUbby liking it mention that you have a cat. Sometimes a landlord AFTER meeting you and seeing you are decent clean people will be more agreeable to a pet.You could also offer to pay a little extra a month or offer a extra deposit for being allowed the cat ... Do not upon calling have your first question be "DO YOU ALLOW PETS" most people will just say no! When you get your place be extra neat with your pet by keeping it indoors and treating any flea problems and keep the litter box clean. This landlord could be a future referance for you cat ! Good luck 3 weeks is lots of time !

Both the Marin Co. Humane Society and the San Francisco SPCA where I volunteered had list of apartments and housing rentals where pets were accepted.
So you might check with your local organisation.
I, of course, would go with your husband's feelings. Have you offered to make a "pet deposit" on a place you might want to rent. Cats can do some damage to carpets or if they urinate outside their boxes. Dogs are objected to as they will bark all day if the owner is not with them.
Don't agree to declaw a kitten to get into an apartment, although I have always thought you could say it was and the landlord wouldn't know whether it was done or not. Of course you need to be prepared to pay for any damage the kitten might do.
Don't try to "sneak" a cat in, neighbors can just be spiteful and report you for having one. Then you have a real problem.

My initial reaction is to keep your kitty under any circumstances, even though I know that could be easier said than done in some circumstances. However, since you do end your query with the question, "what would you do"? , I will tell you that there is virtually no way on earth that I would give up my four cats. We are fortunate in that we live in the country and have a fairly large house so we don't face the problem that you do, but, to me, this is the bottom line; that kitty has given you and your husband its unconditional love and trust and it would break my heart to betray that trust with my kitties. That furry little guy/girl depends on you. I realize that many apartments will not allow cats but some do so I urge you to keep looking and to possibly consider otlher alternatives if your finances allow it (rent a small house maybe?). I give you much credit for your inquiry and hope you and your husband will be able to keep your kitty. Don't give up! Us guys that think cats are wonderful and loving pets are a special breed in our own right - as a "combat veteran" I simply laugh at my male buddies when they try to give me grief about liking kitties. Your husband and I are just way ahead of the "macho" curve in this respect.

3 cheers on your mum arranging to have her spayed. which will help get rid of destiny heartbreaks. On Craigslist, you in no way comprehend who ought to prefer the kittens, and for what purpose, so i might say NO. you should evaluate contacting a rescue team (use Petfinder), and if offering some economic information, ought to discover them greater prepared. Many rescue communities are overwhelmed, yet kittens are much less annoying to place than older cats. they could even enable you hold the kittens jointly as they seek for a qualified proprietor for them. The puppy keep could no longer be perfect, besides the indisputable fact that it in all probability a rather good attitude. Many puppy shops coach kittens as favors for human beings, because they actually do no longer make money on advertising kittens. the money is made on advertising puppies.

There are apartments that will allow pets. You may need to pay an extra deposit, but I think that might be easier to deal with than having the kitten and husband both miserable.

I'd get rid of the kitten. Landlords don't like kittens because their urin has a nasty smell to it.
Save the hassle and give it to a kitten relocation adoption agency placy thingy..

That is a terrible dilemma I think that it has to be a decision between you and your husband sometimes we have difficult choices to make in life I wish you all the best. Maybe a friend might take the kitty and you could visit or slip it into your flat after you move in ??????
