I know...but not completely right..

Encantar is "like"

Amar is love...and there is also querer...it's like when you say to a Friend "I love you"..not to your lover...then you say " te queiro" not "te amo"

My native language is Spanish and I didn't know this...
because that is not correct.

You can use "amar" for people, but you can also use "querer" for people. You can even use "amar" for your dog!

As for "encantar" it means "I love" in the sense of "I really like". You can say that of a thing ("Me encantan las hamburguesas" = I love hamburgers) or of a person ("Me encanta Fernando" = I really like Fernando, I'm really attracted to Fernando).

I think it's great you're learning Spanish and expanding your horizons and opportunities.

Loosely, yes. Amar is the unconjugated verb of "To Love". Encantar is the unconjugated verb "To Enchant".

Examples... I love you - Te Amo.
I love it - Lo Amo

Talking about a person place or thing.

Nice to meet you - Encantado

It would be like me telling my husband "i love you" - Te amo (Amar)

or me saying "this place is awesome, i love it"
este lugar es aseada, me encanta (Encantar)
