Cameras and electronic alarm systems. Cameras can be hooked to video equiptment inside the house. Watch on video who has been there.

it really depends on how much you want to spend. motion detectors are good to about 35 feet or so (wal-mart $29.95). then there is addittion of cameras or other equiptment. i build my own thru ground switchs and transducers (for sound). youd be suprised at a car horn hooked to a 12 volt battery will do when hooked to fishing line and trip switch.or have a trip line go up a tree and turn over a bucket of rocks hitting a carbage can lid (lol) on the ground below. use of moustrip switches and close pin switches work well. you can also use 12 guage signaling devices- thru shomer tek

At Lowes, they have a motion sensor device that will turn on a light inside your house, so whoever is out there won't know that you know they are there. Or put up inexpensive motion sensors with video. They are pretty cheap at Lowes also.
