You are attempting to effect the supernatural by means of magic. The Bible says it is wrong. Since I believe the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God, I have faith that what it says is true.

Now, I do believe in evil spirits, though I tend to consider them as fallen angels or the more familiar term demons. God has directions for our lives when we come under attack in this fashion, and it is to rely on Him, trust in Him, and pray. We all come under attack at some time or another, including and especially Christians, so do not feel like you are alone. Tell your pastor and have the people in your church, who love and care about you, pray for you as well.

It will not be effective, you need to get the book by Neil T Anderson called the Bondage breaker. This book is written on a biblical basis by a Christian author.Throwing salt around the place isn't going to do anything to deter evil spirits, you have been fed some false teachings.Pray out loud in the name of Jesus that the evil spirits must leave immediately and not return. They cannot read your thoughts so you must pray!Ask for a wall of protection in your prayer also.

It is not Biblical to ward off evil spirits with salt. Voodoo is not an acceptable practice among Christians.

If you do indeed have problems with evil spirits, may I suggest:
That you take your focus off the evil spirits and onto doing the will of God. God keeps you from evil when your focus is on Him, not on magic tricks. Evil spirits aren't affected by salt, but are affected by not giving in to their lies and tricks.

Jam 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

2 Thessalonians 3:3-5 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep [you] from evil. And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ .

my friend, you don't need hokey-pokey. My mother would spit 3 times each time she saw a black cat. Until I accepted Jesus (who is my protector, and also teaches us to not deleve in witchcraft), I also did this. What foolishness! Our God is our protector. The only thing that can ward off an evil spirit is God's spirit! Pray for protection, and pray for that person that is so messed up and mislead.

The only thing that will ward of evil spirits from around your house is you exercising your authority in Christ over them. The throwing of salt has no biblical basis. The Lord Jesus said this, "I saw Satan fall like lightining from the sky, therefore I give "you" authority to trample over snakes and scorpions. You can speak directly to evil spirits in the name of Jesus Christ and they must obey you. Use your authority.

The Church has adopted some pagon practices, this is a pagon practice, one that The Church will laugh at, so forget this one.
Why do you feel that you need to ward off evil spirtis, is it so, or is there other problems in your life that you must address now. You need a Spiritual Director immediately. Go find a PRIEST now.

Well, throwing salt around will probably ward off living grass.... so it depends if you care about potential evil spirits or having a decent looking lawn so you can sell your house if you need to.

I vote for the pragmatic approach.

Throwing salt into the yard will just kill the grass. Pray & asked God to protect you . I made it thru Katrina & grew up on the mean streets of New Orleans ... Jesus is my Rock and my shield . He is my protection ! He will protect you too-

That is not in the Bible. It is some old superstition. Pray for the Lord to put a hedge of protection around you and your home. Ask this in Jesus name.

Just sprinkle the salt around your windows and doors and ask that the salt chase away evil.

You could say this as you sprinkle the salt around:

As salt is life, let it purify my home in all ways.
Let it cleanse my home in as I dedicate myself to the glory of _________(God, or whatever you want to call the powers around you).
Let the sacred salt drive out any impurities, so that my home may be cleansed of evil.
Thank you and amen/so mote it be.
