I don't think so. From what I found, it appears to be legal but the right to breastfeed in public is not yet PROTECTED for mothers.

As a matter of fact, in November of last year there was a bill introduced to the House of Commons which would make it an offence to stop women breastfeeding their babies in public places. I can't find anything to tell me if the bill has been passed into law yet or not though.

I wouldn't know if it is illegal, but when most women breast feed they don't completely expose the breast. They are usaully very discreet and the breast is covered by the baby's head. Only people who really stare are going to see a nipple or the breast. If it is illegal I think it is wrong, breastfeeding is the most natural thing in the world. I just advise woman who breastfeed to try and be discreet and respect that some people such as children or men or anyone might feel uncomfortable. By the way I breast feed anywhere, and nobody seems to even notice. They usaully think the baby is asleep in my arms!

If some morons had their way it would be, but thankfully no it is not.

There have been times when the police have been called to ask mothers to go somewhere more private (which is bloody stupid)!!! and where I live a feeding mother was asked to leave a cafe as someone complained that it was putting them off their food.

What is a mothers' alternative? Feeding their baby in public toilets - I don't think so. I for one wouldn't eat my food in there so why should a baby?

It isn't illegal but there isn't any laws protecting the rights of breastfeeding moms in public like most states here in the U.S.

breast feeding is a fact of life... before bottle were invented babies only had one way of eating.... if anyone says anything about you breastfeeding you let them know they were intended to feed babies... some people need to get over it...
