Being a perfectionist is not easy. I do not like to start something and not finish it. If I have a lot of studying to do I usually leave it more or less until I cannot postpone it anymore. Don't get me wrong, I am an excellent student and I do not cram before tests, but I know I could be making better use of my time. If I didn't procastinate I would have time for entertainment - and I usually don't.
Thanks for your advise.

i procrastinate also since i should be doing my hmwk right now but anyways i think that everyone has a set way of doing things and some ppl can do well by procrastinating others can't. if you know you procrastinate then figure out roughly how long whatever it is is going to take and then do something else in the mean time. that's what i do. my german that i have to do probably only take 30-45 mins so i am going to do it at like 8/9 o'clock and that should be fine.

By doing things when you receive them. Instead of watching television, going shopping or anything else that is not necessary to do, do your work (or anything else that you tend to procrastinate) first. Before you sit down, keep going. After a while, you won't think about putting it off anymore. You'll just do it.

How much of a perfectionist could you be if you procrastinate? If you feel that you're procrastinating, it means that you aren't leaving enough time to "perfect" the assignment or task. Perfectionists don't procrastinate because they always want to make sure that they have enough time to correct any possible inadequacies they may find.

The best way to stop wasting time is to make a list of the things you need to do and then set a time to start and finish them. Put the most important at the top and finish it then go to the next. You will need to make this a serious effort because some things are easy to force yourself to start.

The best I can tell you is that YOU have to make up your own mind as to what is really important to you. There is no deep secret you just have to make up your own mind

As my mum usually says.... "Why do tomorrow what you can do now".....because in my case, there is always somewhere to go tomorrow....therefore just do now... And anyways..when its done...your mind feels sooo much better and clearer...don't you agree?

By not fooling fooling yourself that you'll do "it" later. Do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done. As you practice this, it will become habitual.
