The amount of pain is dependant on the severity of your bunions and the surgeon's techinque. Going to a well trained surgical podiatrist over an older set in his ways toenail clipping podiatrist can mean weeks of quicker recovery and much less pain. Don't get me wrong, it's not a painless surgery, but the pain can be minimized by choosing a well educated physician.

I know someone who recently had her bunions done and because she choose a good podiatric surgeon, her recovery time was half of other people who did not have such surgeons. People were amazed at her recovery and her lack of pain after several weeks. But remember, this is only anecdotal and I can't speak for your injury and what your surgery would entail. Just wanted to offer some thoughts. : )

I completely understand that surgery can be scary. Trust me, I have had two procedures in the past week and I have been horrified. The procedure for removing a bunion is quite simple. You will be put under Anesthesia, so you will sleep during the procedure. After a week you should be walking and wearing shoes as normal. Doctors have trained for this and I am sure everything will be fine. The best thing you can do is relax! Good Luck! Get Well Soon!

It's my understanding that bunion surgery is a lot less painful and traumatic than it used to be. They use newer, less invasive procedures now, and the recovery time is faster with minimal scarring. Talk over the procedure with your podiatrist. The benefits will outweigh the procedure, and you'll be able to wear more stylish shoes.

I've never had surgery but when u look at it, it's better to just get it over with because it will be worth it in the end. a little bit of pain is definitely worth having cute feet and being able to wear cute sandals
