im workin on my CDA in child care and i dont get my last assignment and the web was no help either.... i have to write an essay on early childhood educations trends and issues... i looked in a magazine for some articles but nothing popped out.. i dont think i realy understand whats bein asked of me... otherwise im shure i would have found something.. does any one have any ideas or can explain it to me.. thankx

I don't know if this helps my 17 years old went to preschool and now my 3 years old is and the trend now is High scope were back then they didn't teach anything only socializing was main thing for preschool, My three year old will learn to write name,there is open table art work only,the children are asked what they what to talk and learn about compared to then the teachers had everything planned ,I'm mom hope this helps good luck

In Ontario the trend now seems to be emergent curriculum as opposed to theme based curriculum along with best start programs issues right now are lack of funding, expensive enrollment, lack of enough subsidized spaces and not enough spaces in general.
