Catholics do not 'christen.'
If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group.
This is the first step in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) but you can stop at any time. There is no obligation to become a Catholic.
If you choose to join the Catholic Church, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults will culminate in your Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
With love in Christ.

I am really not sure about the "christening' ceremony part of your question, but, I always thought personally that if you go through RCIA Catholic classes you always end up being baptized. When I was baptized into the Catholic Church, I had some tutoriing by the priest and then I was baptized into the church, this was when I was going to a Catholic high school up east.

RCIA ends with the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist on Easter. So if you are going through RCIA, you are not baptized. You are considered a catechumen (look this up on the net!).
God bless and enjoy entering into the mysteries of Christ!
if you are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith, message me with your specific interests and I will give you a book list.

You do not have to be baptized before you start attending RCIA classes (classes taken by those adults wanting to convert to Catholicism)
If you were not baptized with water and in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit in your old church, you will be baptized once you finish RCIA classes.
Contact me if you have any questions. blessings on you as you go through the RCIA process.

Christening is for pagons and protestians, not Christians.
To be a part of THE CHURCH, the BODY OF CHRIST, you must be Baptized.
You need to attend more RCIA classes, the rewards are great.

If you've already been Baptized as a Protestant Christian, the Catholic Church will recognize this as a valid Baptism. You will not need to be Baptized again.

There is no such thing as sprinkling in the Bible. If you want to do it as Jesus did it, then you must go under the water (to represent his burial) and come out of the water (to represent his resurrection). You should not be babtized before you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and asked him to come into your heart and save your soul. If you are babtized before that convicting moment in your life, then you are just getting wet. Don't get me wrong though. The only thing that saves you is the Lord Jesus and his grace. Babtism is just a public profession of faith that Jesus asked us all to do.

I suspect you will have to be baptized.
Why not ask your priest?
