Lovebird's are the greatest little pets you could ever imagine. They're affectionate, social, inquisitive and will very often mimmick like a larger parrot does. Although not many lovebirds learn to talk. I have one that says a few words. So obviously they can but rarley are capable of speech. The females are a little "nippy" when they reach maturity. If you get 2 of them, they'll pretty much bond with eachother and almost completely ignore people. 2 females may not get along all that well and a male and a female pair will almost assuredly have babies. They are by far the greatest little companions you could ever have!

They make great pets. I love lovebirds. Their chirps are beautiful and their colors are wonderful. I would never have birds for pets because I think it is so sad to have them caged up in a very small space.

Cockatiels are much better as pets. Lovebirds are known to bite as i have heard from various people and professionals. I have a cockatiel,he is very good. I can hold him and he lets my little nieces pat him and it's the same with my friend's cockatiel. He whistles tunes that i have taught him..etc

Lovebirds make great pets, if you want it to be tame, only get one. They can be noisy and quite messy though. If you live in a building I wouldn't recommend it, trust me your neighbors will complain. If your looking for a tame bird you should look into conures (green cheeked or maroon bellies are my personal fav's)

I had several love birds but not all of them were friendly. Pets are like human; they have personalities. Observe the birds in the pet shop and try to get a friendly one. If you want to tame them, buy one. Most of them are noisy though, but they are lovely and if you can tame them, they can be really good friends.

Yes they are. Just be ready to clean up the seeds and shells it throws out, and be sure to give it lots of attention. You should get one that has been hand fed from a breeder (find an ad in the paper). This kind will sit on your finger and arm.....and be very close to you.
