Good in what sense? If you want to become a mechanical engineer then no, it isn't a good degree for you. There are several different subgroups of communication studies which lead to different possible career opportunities, if that is what you want. People study things like critical media studies, argumentation and debate, and rhetoric within the overall umbrella of communications. They may want to get a job in public relations, or to run a political campaign, or just to be a more persuasive public speaker.

Honestly any degree can be good it really depends on what you use it for. Alot of college kids think that their degree might not be good or that their degree makes them a "shoe-in". It really depends on what and how you use your degree when you get out.
