uh, no I aint gay and I know about that little passage in the Bible about two guys layin together n'all, but to raise this issue to national prominence, while conveniently ignoring the CORE teaching of loving your fellow man (no pun intended) as yourself and working for equality and opportunity, is probably (and should be) a mortal sin. Guess who's really goin' to hell, fundi!?

I totally agree. God would be more pissed off about people passing judgment. I really don't even believe God is going to condemn gays, that's just what some homophobes put in the bible. If God is that heartless than why would anyone want to live in his kingdom for all eternity.

WOW! You may not be aware of it, I could preach sermons on this for two to three years! And it may not be what you would expect!

I believe Christ would be more upset with intolerance and hatred and our lack of love and forgiveness for our fellow man! Even here I could add a great deal more! God is the only true judge! Judge not least ye be judged!

Right here I see sins that are being committed by Christians! No sin is greater than the other as they all receive the same punishment! A sin is a sin is a sin for all!

Aah, yes, here come the fundis of 1800 year old poetry. Let The Marching Band Play! I personally dont believe in Christ being the Son of Anything other than a woman in a manger who was hiding from cultural persecution for her...indulgence. But seeing it from a completely secular standpoint, i agree, a supposedly compassionate god should understand, ryt?

But then again, its "god" - yeesh.

The biblical literalists would say that tolerance is not the same for this type of "sin".

I for one could give a rip about gays, I am tolerant of them as long as they aren't trying to shove their crap into our public school system such as "Tommy has Two Mommies".. Forcing tolerance is bullshit. I should not be required to have their agenda shoved in my face or my children's face. What they do in their own bedroom is ok by me, but damnit leave at home.

DON'T want to know.

As far as jesus's stance I don't know he'd care either way.. I think the historical Jesus was likely a by the book Jew.. And if Leviticus said no butt slapping boys or carpet munching of girls, then it was not something he viewed as normal. Love the person, detest the behavior.

Big difference..

I am no fundie, I think ANY group with an agenda is dangerous, queers or Fundies fall into that category.

Well I do not think he is over excited about either. Since we will not know until we get to judgement then I guess we'll have to wait and see.So I do not think I would be too quick to guess who's really going to hell or using the term fundi, which is obviously being used in a scornful and judgemental fashion. Tolerance after all is what you want, right?

The responses are interesting. So much for this "love of God" concept and how the churches try to reach out to the "sinner". It is very obvious that no gay person would be welcome in church. Gays would never be trusted -- let alone respected! Unless, there were lots of gifts of money -- and plenty of it!

I can only speak for myself but, I don't hate anyone, I can tolerate anyone. That does not mean I have to accept their sin. If that were true, shouldn't we tolorate rapists or child molsters? They believe thay have a right to do the things they do. We don't have to agree, just tolerate them.
It is possable to love the sinner and hate the sin.
When my church learned of my past, they didn't throw me out but, supported me because, I repented.
If we repent God is just and will foregive us.
We are worth a Son to God.

Hatred and intolerance... at least half of bi/homo-sexual people are born like that and have... different genes. If God didn't like gays, he wouldn't have allowed them to exist. This concept can be debated just like evolution, which I agree with by the way, so don't expect one answer. If your interested in that type of stuff, try reading "Inherit the Wind"

Any and all sin is an abomination to God.

Sin is a choice.

Just because someone is attracted to someone of the same sex doesn't mean they "HAVE" to act on it. Again, it's a choice.

I will not judge someone for living the homosexual lifestyle. I don't condone it, either. It is God's place to judge everyone...not mine.

Jesus is teaching me how to love everyone the way He does. Sometimes, it's easier than other times.

You judging others for their beliefs makes you no better than those "fundi's" as you call them judge. We will be judged by the measure in which we judge.

Remember...in the end, we will all stand before God and answer for what we have done...or haven't done.

May you all find the grace of the living God and His Son Jesus!!!

I'm pretty sure intolerance and hatred would upset Him more. He said to love everyone. He didn't use the word "except."
