Baptism and christening are two different things. The baptism service is supposed to be removing all original sin, and pledging the godparent(s) to keep the child on the right path. Oil and water are usually both used.
Christening is mainly bestowing a name, done normally a few weeks or months after baptism.

So, technically, they are different. But both can be done at any age, so if you are worried about it, make an appointment to get this done as soon as possible.

Nope.

The Catholic Church considers a baptism as valid if you are baptized with water and in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Catholic Sacrament of Baptism does use oil, but water is the most important.

If a person is baptized with water and in teh name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, it is considered valid to the Catholic Church, not matter in what faith it was done. If you converted to Catholicism, you would not need to be rebaptized.

You can only be considered baptized by the Catholic Church if a Catholic Clergyman was the one to perform it. Oil annointments and christenings are much rarer than they used to be, but I know of a few parishes that still practice the art.

No. This is called being anointed with oil.

The Catholic Church will recognize non-Catholic Christian baptisms if they use water and the words, "[Name], I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,"

With love in Christ.

--Is Catholic--

Nope, such a person has not been baptized. Baptism must be done with water and in the name of the triune God.

When one is confirmed, one is anointed with oil, btw.
