All children who are Christened are baptised at the same time. The Christening goes back to when the local priest was also a Registrar of Births. Some still are. The baptism is the pouring of water over the child's head. The Christening, is the naming of the child, and the welcoming into the Church...........

I'm pretty sure of this answer...

Being christened is an orthodox christian tradition where the child is given its name "officially"

Being baptised is more of a catholic (and baptist) thing when the child is cleansed of sin in the ceremony.

Hope this helps :)

I suspect it means you were anointed with oil but they held off on the water. The words christen and Christ are related. Christ means the anointed one. Jesus was anointed with oil and he was also baptized with water by John the Baptist--not John the Apostle.

Christened is what they do to babies... It commits them to GOD and if they should do would go to heaven (they would go to heaven even if not christened) Baptized happens when you make a conscious decision to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and become saved. Baptism symbolizes the washing away of your sins and you are reborned in Christ
