Both dogs are cool - depends entirely on your preference. I've had a pharoah hound - he was very elegant, out-going, clever, a bit of a goof and an all-round fun dog.

I have two dobermans and I will never have another breed of dog as long as I live. They are the smartest, most intelligent, loyal breed of dog I have ever been around. They are not the mean and aggresive dog's that some people think they are. They are like any other dog when people come to visit, they say hello and wag their little tails. The only time they are ever mean or aggresive is when they feel you are threatened, they are very protective. Yet they are smart enough to know who is a threat and who is not. They are easy to groom, they shed very little and they do not smell like some dogs can. I could go on and on about Doberman, they are just wonderful dogs!!!

I don't know what an Egyptian Pharoah hound is but it sure sounds a lot cooler to me.

Egyptian Pharoh Hound sounds more hardcore.

they are very very different - the pharoah is a hound a hunter breed to run down prey independently (IE: they don't live & breath to please you) and they CAN TOO bark! loudly and in plenty till your head rings (one rather famous pharoah hound was advertised as having the name "shut up Seeker") Dobermans are a guard dog and more attached to their people & far far more motivated to please, and less prone to run off chasing game.

I have owned Dobes for 17 years but I really like pharoh hounds.
Much different breeds. Totaly different attitudes and tempermants.
Both cool looking dogs.

Pharaoh hound. Any "non-common" dog is cool. I have a Neapolitan Mastiff.

they're both cool. pharoah hounds lack the ability to bark properly tho.. it sounds like a yodel.. not very menacing. but as far as looks are concerned i like both :)
