Do you think there is a minimum amount of time needed before you can "be in love" with someone. What specific criteria would you pin point as proof you are actually "in love" and not just "smitten"...

**ok, so together for a month and see eachother everyday... I'm asking b/c he HAS already told me.. and I haven't told him, but he still says it ... I want to say it but I have never been here before and it's kinda scary.. I really believe I do.. he's awesome!**

i knew i loved my partner. you know in yourself that feeling you get its undescribable. i waited for him to say it first. have you tried talking to your partner. just say it when your ready honey, only you know when this is good luck xx

In love for the 1st time... Don't say it at all!! Not yet anyway!! 2 people have to do a lot of stuff together and be together for quite a while before you put yourself in such dangerous territory with that 3 words...
It makes people very vulnerable to admit that they feel that way. Give it a few weeks at least and get to know each other well. Telling someone 'i love you' should come from the heart, but you have to be sure that the other person are on the same level as you with the relationship and that they feel more or less the same way about you...
And unfortunately the only way you know this, is when you have a little bit more dating experience and 'read' signs that can tell you that better.

I think it takes a while to really know if its real love or just smitten as you call it. Lust can last a very long time too you know.

It takes a life time to get to know someone... however a few months to share things... I'd give 6 months to a year!

well u can't acutually put love on a clock when it happens then u'll know.. now saying it to ur other , i'm not sure about.. u wanna make sure he feels the same way... u dont' want to say it then he never says it back or she never says it back , cause then u'll be crushed.....

No, i don't think there's a specific period of time....but if you're in love and you're sure of it...then, i'm very happy for you and i hope everything works out! But, make sure you're not getting ahead of yourself.

i believe in love at first site, but never say i love you unless they say it (and really mean it) first.
