Will probably need deep pockets. All the FEAD, which is drive accessories, power steering, alternator, etc.. will have different brackets. Then the exhaust will have to be changed, starter, radiator hoses, heater hoses, and under hood electrical connections. Then engine mounts and brackets. Being a stick shift, you will most likely need to check the bell housing( clutch location ). That would be about it. Best bet. Rebuild or replace the 300 six cylinder. Easier and much cheaper on the wallet.

You will need the motor stands for the v8. They lean back, without them your drive train will be moved forward a couple of inches, doesn't sound like much but will give you nightmares. The motor should bolt up to the bell housing, but you will need the flywheel for the 302, you will need to know the balance of the v8, (that is if you need a flywheel) as Ford used two different balances. Also a later motor, (mid 80's) may not have the ball joint boss drilled, ( the ball joint for you clutch goes into the bell housing of the 300, the v8 goes in the block.) Good luck.

I imagine you will need to change your motor mounts for a V8 and if you want luxury stuff like power steering, a/c you will need the brackets for those but if your truck isn't set up for a/c i wouldn't mess with it I have a '78 that we have a/c and it isn't fun at all to install

You will more than likely need to change out the motor mounts. Then drop the engine in you'll need to change the bellhousing on the transmission.
