larakmvp1 What to do?
On my first day of school, I have to learn that i got the hardest teacher in my grade, maybe even the school. She is very strict, and has already given a test on the first day AND a 6 paragraph essay due in 2 days. I always seem to get a hard teacher. Im really nervous, because I am afraid I will lose my straight A streak Ive had since 5th grade.

What do i do??

Lucky you. If I were you with awesome Straight A grade, I will challenge ALL the WAY!

If you have a problem, ask your hard teacher for help. That what are she for and you were learn more than if you were with a easy and boring teacher. When you have a strict teacher as long she is helpful and explain superbly well ,you don't have a problem. If you are in high school, that teacher want you to prepare for Univeristy is super hard than high school and very strict in correction. Do your best and take this as challenge. I pretty you can best with a A. With a B, this is very good and not a end of the world. As long as you won't fail. And who's care if you have C! Your senior high school is the most important to be accepted in University.

Don't be afraid to ask your hard teacher for help, she might get some hint and great advices to you to success better or have a striaght A like you want, and the same for other students who want to pass this course becuase of your very stirct teacher. PLus, she won't bit you. A hard strict teacher who explain well and help their students are the best and challenging for students. A worth a chance.
Take it easy, relax and be organized on school work. Never give on the last minute.

I have some hard strict teacher, in high school and cegep, but they explain very well and willing to help if their problems have a problems. Not all hard strict are bad but a great life lesson to prepare in University which many teachers is very hard esp in correction and many assignments at the time to finish only one week. Also, real fact of your default( weakness) if you have a hard teacher, which she is easily help you to solve your problem.

Take that chance or you will be sorry not challenging yourself. Ask for help if you don't understand and be her friend too.

Life is not EASY but only big obstacles that force you to jump for success with hope and courage. Don't give up! I know you can do it. If you have B, who's care, you pass and it very good grade.

For me, I don't care if I have A or B as long as I have good grade and I pass, which I mostly have in high school.

There is nothing wrong with having a teacher who will challenge you. In high school I had the teacher everyone despised--Mrs. Nancy Salmi. I think I saw her smile once the whole year. I had homework for her class every night; tests, projects, and essays were regular. I dreaded going to her class.

In retrospect, she was one of the best teachers I have ever had. I learned so much more from her than I did from any other teacher. I hated it at the time, and I had to bust my butt to keep my grades up, but she was a good teacher.

So maybe reconsider your perspective. A test on the first day? It was probably a diagnostic, ungraded, to see what you know already. An essay, only 6 paragraphs? No problem. She probably just wants to check out your writing.

It will be a lot of work. Just do it.

I think the 8 am teacher sounds like the better deal. All you have to do is get up a little earlier than you'd like. You can teach yourself to get up earlier. Having time to rest and eat during the day is incredibly important. If the teacher is better, and you have the syllabus, then suck it up and take the 8 am. Personally, I hated 3 pm classes because I'd always want to fall asleep. I did better at morning classes if I could nap in the afternoons.

is this even a question.. ok, for what it's worth.. getting a hard teacher is the best thing that could happen to you. No matter what you think is hard now, it's nothing compared to what you'll get in college, and I don't mean the difficulty of understanding your lecture, but the amount of work you'll get. So you can only thank your lucky stars that you have someone who's nice enough to be demanding, someone who cares about preparing you for your future and who cares enough to try and improve you. Try spending less time on Y answers and more on your books and studies

Your straight A streak is not as important as the fact that she might actually teach you something. Do your best because this is life, there will always be teachers you don't like, bosses you don't like, people you don't like, etc. You will learn to get along with all kinds of people. Do you want to go through life getting everything easy? Challenge yourself, make the teacher like you.

If you say you always seem to get a hard teacher but you've got a straight A record... what's the problem?! It'll be the same as usual.

no teacher is had or soft, the ones we call strict are the ones who are strict about discipline. teachers are the best friends and advisers to their students besides parents. you may never lose your grades if you look at it this way that they just want you to grow into a well behaved citizen of tomorrow.

if you think the work load is too much, try talking to the teacher... or in any case talk to the teacher first before asking others... that's what ive learned in the past
