Remember 3 years ago? March of 2003. We were told by Bush and company the war will last about 8 months in Iraq and the oil over there will pay for the war. Also we were told the Iraqi people would love us to death. ( Open arms and open hearts) Well, Bush is somewhat correct. They have loved us to death 2,656 times. ( Hard to believe people believed what Bush was saying back in 2003 )

Yes,he does seem to change things up alot....Examples:

First we were told that Saddam had WMD, and that he even was working on a drone which could deliver a nuclear weapon to America. Rice said that we shouldn't wait for the mushroom cloud. Bush said we had to strike preemptively before a nation became an imminent threat. After WMD were not found, we were told we were bringing democracy to the country, by ridding it of a genocidal tyrant. Next, we were told that we were fighting terrorism over there so that it would not come to the United States. Then Bush and Cheney tried to associate Saddam Hussein with the 9/11 terrorists, so we were in Iraq to strike back at the 9/11 terrorists. Then we were told we were fighting to establish a "new Middle East" but that was not really defined, except as a place of modernity and "freedoms".. As of today, per Bush's most recent speech, it seems as though we are in Iraq fighting a global war on radical Islam. Who knows how long we get lied to,and what the next reason will be.....Do what Barbara should have made Bush Senior do-PULL OUT BUSH!!!
GET US OUT OF IRAQ!!!!!

They were right about the war, when Bush stood on that aircraft Carrier and said "mission accomplished" that was the end of the war. After the war came the occupation and we still are in an occupation. Bush has done a great job of turning the word insurgent into the word terrorist and anyone who thinks the terrorist are going to flock to Iraq to get the Americans are being misled. I think Bush wants to control the business part of Iraq and Iran so he can control the oil China and Russia will need in the future. Terrorist are criminals and the way you stop criminals is with police work with teams of spooks and investigators around the world in any country that imformation may take them.

Alrighty then, let's see......

Yup, I remember them telling us we'd be greeted by the Iraqi's we were liberating.....AND WE WERE

Yup I remember them saying the war would be short......SO FAR IT'S NOT BEEN VERY LONG.

When a third world population such as those in Iraq is liberated from the tyranny and oppression that they were under for so many decades they will welcome the conquering liberators. Then the long hard road of digging out the oppressors begins and the third world population that just wants to go back to raising their families sees nothing but hardship and hard times. They don't see that the moment the liberators leave that the surviving remnants of the oppressive regime will again resort to their murder and torture to, AGAIN, oppress the formerly liberated. So.....the arms aren't so open now as they were when we first liberated them but those that are educated and trying to rebuild their country for the better still have their arms open.
TRY AGAIN liberal.

SHORT? How do you define short? Is it the amount of time it takes a liberal politician to write up some new legislative blunder attempting to prize more of my hard earned dollars from my pocket? WWII was over in 1945, we are STILL occupying Japan and Germany and we still lose military men and women in those countries (albiet to accidents more so than attacks).

It is a long road to take but if we do not take it to the end then we will be back in another 10 or 20 years and people will be saying of George Jr. the same thing that they are saying about his father......If he'd only finished the job when he had the chance.

Where to begin!?! so many things taken out of context to twist and spin...
The war (Against the Saddam government) was VERY Short and it is over now. So sorry if you don't want to believe it but that's a fact and not subject to what you believe.

The Iraqi People do welcome us and are glad we are there. I remember seeing all the purple fingers on voting day, don't you?Don't confuse the Iraqi people with the Insurgents. over 90% of the insurgents are NOT Iraqis but other disillusioned people from other countries that are heeding the Terrorist call to go fight there. Your question is so full of misrepresented statements its not funny.
And a Further thing to point out:
The war in Iraq was NOT about the War on Terror and had little to do with 9/11.
It did have to do with the fact that Saddam has refused time and time again to cooperate with UN weapons inspectors.
Since Saddam has been removed. Al-Qaida backed terrorist and "Insurgents" have flooded into the area and NOW , yes it is about the war on terror. but the Terrorists made it that way. not us.
Yes there were some mistakes made during this conflict. but to arbitrarily condemn the US as you and others have is UNCONSCIONABLE

Remember it well. But who hasn't been wrong making quick statements. I could not see that he made a sound judgment call at that time. I doubt that most all of those people loved us or ever will. I feel that we should begin returning our troops without appearing that we are just giving up. It's time they start handling their own problems. Holy wars will never be solved, they will still be fighting among themselves for eternity.

You hit the nail on the head by stating "Does anyone remember?" I hope the number of Americans who demand full accountability by those who sent brave men and women off to an unwinable war, grows by leaps and bounds. If for no other reason, than to just be sure that our sons and daughters who have died, gave up their lives as patriots, and not political pawns.

Accepting anything less is cowardice.

HMMMM, let me see. As I recall, I saw thousands of Iraqis dancing and cheering as a stature of Saddam came down. Saddams army was defeated in a short time. And the only thing you here out of Iraq is death, so, you really don't know how the rest of the country is doing.

As bad as it is, when you compare Iraq to Korea in the 50s, we've -- and I do hate to put it this way -- gotten off light for invading their country. We need to give Iraq back to the Iraqis, and bid them a good-day.

If we lose over there, then it is only a matter of time before the fall of western civilization. We have lost Spain, France is sure to follow within the next five years or sooner. Unless we win this thing, then democracies will eventually be no more. Better check e-bay for a prayer rug friend.

Yep...Funny that. What's even more hilarious (or sad, depending on your POV) is that they have now distanced themselves from the people that told them all that in the first place. You know, Chalabi and his group of loons.

Here's another question for you. How many knew that when we pulled the statue of Saddam down, the crowd of happy "iraqis" were actually bused in from Jordan and Kuwait? Or that the size of the crowd wasn't a few thousand like it was reported here, but was actually a few hundred? Thanks to the BBC and a few other news sources, it shows that it was all a sham.
