My Camaro, which is 1 second slower (0-60 time) than a Corvette, would obliterate your car.
Are you sure that Vette wasn't on blocks?

It depends on the Vette, the drivers, road conditions, car modifications, vehicle condition, transmission, etc, etc. 80's and early 90's vettes are particularly slow. Beating them is not difficult. LS1 vettes are no big deal either. You will, however, meet many Vettes, ricers, Mustangs, and other cars that will beat you. Your stock 95 GT runs low 15's to high 14's in the 1/4 mile. No matter how much $ you put into your car, someone will always be faster. I don't doubt ya, but be prepared.

Man... Come on, If you really did win win against those Vettes you wouldn't have to brag about it like you do. I don't brag, besides, what year Vettes have you beaten ?How many did you beat? The weight and motors have changed from Stingrays to present day Vettes.
If I'm correct, the Mustang, least the STOCK 5.0 doesn't have a great launch but will run hard and fast once running. I would know, I have one. Is this street race or quater mile? Maybe if you quit talking like your a professional racer people will believe you. There are faster cars out there than you. Mustangs aren't the fastest out there, so quit acting like they are.
Educate yourself on cars a little bit you make yourself look ignorant. I can shamlessly admit that there are Chevys that can beat my Ford. Mustang is as much a piece of America muscle as Corvette is. Both are fast, but one will ultimately be faster.

It's about the driver and not the car...plain and simple. The most important factor in any race or comparison should be the skills of the driver. The car's hp/tq/tq-curve, traction, weight...whatever are secondary. In a street race, it is all about the launch (not the 0-60mph time)
You should have worded your "question" as Mustang+me spanked a less skilled driver in a vette. Ford this..chevy that..who cares about the brand..doesn't have really anything to do with the question.

corvettes are overrated just like Mack trucks and teenage girls. If you put vette chrome on a monza or corvair you could double your sell price.A 53 corvette was only a 50 chev with a fiberglass body. Before the cobra the AC's would kick there asses in every race they were in.In 65 and 66 they always did road tests with the mustang and vette, the vette had a 327 and the mustang a 289.No wonder it was faster.I beleive you!!!!!!!!!

depends upon the vette and more of the driver.... as was said, a lot of vettes run like crap over time and espcially the late 70s- roughly 80s vettes as they were anemic.... others depend upon the car and espcially the driver... but got a friend who has a stock z06 that suped up and blown stangs have tried to go after and the z06 blew away...

People tell you that you are lying because your stock Non-PI 95 GT has only 215hp (which is only about 180rwhp) and weighs about 3400 pounds, while a vette has a lot more horsepower (even the older ones) and weighs a lot less. And yes, I also call BS on your claims. Please stop trying to lie to look cool on the internet. You are making yourself look very ignorant, and bringing shame to all mustang owners.

Cause you did not beat a Vette. The Vette was laughing so hard that he could not keep his foot on the gas pedal.
