I think it's happened to all of us at some point in our youths.
What was the reason mommy/daddy/aunty/grandma/etc. forced you to get a new look?
Thought it'd look cute?
As a punishment?

When I was young I got taken once a year,in the summer, to the Beauty shop and they cut it all off. All my school pics, I have a dorky pixie cut that sticks up everywhere. Now I am a hairstylist and get lots of compliments on my hair :)

When i was younger in grade school, my mom cut my hair short to make it easier on her. I looked like a boy, I was picked on and everything. When i went into junior high, i was so insecure that i had no freinds and finally I could not take it anymore and quit school in the 9th grade. I now have a 8 yr old daughter and i am letting her hair grow , even though it's hell to style every morning. she has really thick curly hair. but from my hellish experince in school, I do not want my daughter to go through the same thing. she is my world!!!!

My mom preferred short hair on my sister and I because she didn't have time to mess with it everyday. I hated trying to fix it myself. When I got older, I grew it long and it made her crazy! I loved having long hair.
Now I'm 37 and I have hair that comes just below my ears. My mom likes it better because I can't flip it like I used to but I sure miss the long hair! When I went back to short hair, one of my best friends asked me if I was going through a midlife crisis!

my mom never let me cut my hair at all, she said i look best with long hair and no matter how nicely i would ask she never let me get anything more then a trim. after a while i just went on my own and had my fair share of shorter and longer hair, but to be honest i keep it nice and long now, but still not as long as my mom likes it!

the reason is that they got tired of my long hair!
they thought it would look cute,they were wrong!i thought it would look retarded,i was right!
Punishment?!??!that hair cut was worse than a punishment!

it never happend to me but, I work in a small salon and we often have parents bring in their children to get their hair cut off short because of head lice. You know, like that's going to get rid of blood sucking parasites...get rid of the hair. Yup, works every time :-( excuse me while I go shower.

Yeah. they're both from pakistan and have middle eastern families, so they're not used to a guy having hair covering his ears. I keep telling them it's actually wut alot of prophets had (it's true), but they won't listen. I think they're letting up a little cuz they're making me get it cut less often and less short.

oh when i was in the second grade my mother made me wear pantie hose and shorts to school. the teachers kept on asking me did i dress myself today and i said no my mom did. they laughed and told my mother and she said its in style now. i cant believe she did that to me.
