is it a good idea to be JUST FRIENDS with someone who you have been physical with. Even if you are dating someone else currently?

you can stay friends with someone you've been intimate with, as long as you both know its in the past and it isnt going to interfere with the present or the future. oh and you might want to make sure your current flame knows that there was some history between you..but its in the past cuz if they find out thru the grapevine you'll be in trouble.

Depends on the people involved.

Ignore those who say never, since it HAS happened -- happens quite often, in fact.

(So many people know of ONE instance, where it didn't work, and conclude from that that it can't possibly ever work. They are simply WRONG.)

If the physical part is over, and the two like each other as friends, then yes. If the someone dating one of these people isn't a completely paranoid, jealous freak (which can also happen), then why not?

From experience, yes it is. I used to date this guy for about a month, he was attractive, sweet and funny. We hooked up a few times. However I saw him out with someone else one night, without warning, when I confronted him he choose to go with the other girl, I ve never been dissed like that,. the next day, he apologized. I guess I kinda knew it wasnt meant to be.

Anyhow as time goes on they continue to date, he was crazy about her and she cheated on him several times and she hid the fact that she had herpes( can u say ew?! well she was a slut...).
Anyways we reamined friends, only thru mutual friends, we contiued to talk as friends, laugh and hangout. Now he is engaged with someone else in anouther state and I couldent be happier for him.

It is YOUR call to be friends. if you guys enjoyed laughing and talking as friends, then it was meant for you to be freinds only, friends come around and go, keep those people that are true to you close. Hope this helps.

I hope so. And I think so. But I think some time has to pass to cool things off, neither person can want more out of the relationship and a strict hands-off policy has to be in effect.

As long as you have not shared all the detail with your current. I had a very close friend whom I shared everything with and at times when she would come to visit we would have sex. We were both okay with the fact that we would be friend and that's all, after I met my current wife, I only introduced her as my very close friend.

I am a good friend to all the ex-es. that's because i first apreciated them as friends and after that as lovers and if our love relation didn't work that doesn't mean i don't apreciate them as friends any more. and i am sure they apreciate me.

I would break everything off. I wouldn't want anything to interfere with the new relationship.
