If you've kept it all this time, and you have a daughter. KEEP IT. But do yourself a favor now & bring it to a reputable place that can clean, preserve & store the dress, veil & everything for you. Your daughter may really want it one day, maybe to give to her daughter to wear at her wedding - who knows. I think it's sweet you still have it, so continue on.

I would first check on ebay and where ever else you were planning to sell it and see what a wedding dress in that style and size is worth- and then go from there. If your only going to get $30 then hell NO! But $500 could really help pay for that oil this winter. Thats how I decide anyways... I had some dolls I was on the fence about selling or saving for it I had a daughter... they are nice franklin mint dolls- cost $100 per piece and I have 6 of them. When I saw the whole collection on sale for $25.... Hmm... I'll just save them. They are worth more then $25 to me.

Initially I held onto mine for sentimental reasons. However, since my divorce, the only reason I continued to hold onto it was in the anticipation of my daughter possibly wearing it. However, she wanted something more modern. So, now as I'm looking to sell mine, I'm finding the only consignment store in the area that takes wedding gowns will only take them up to 2 years, due to style changes.
I guess if you're still married, it would depend on how sentimental you are, if you have the extra room in your house, if you need the money, etc. How old is your daughter? Is it likely that she will fit in it when the time comes?

That's completely up to you; it is your dress, your "memories" etc. If you will have no further use for it, then by all means sell it and use the money for something else. Perhaps even put the money towards something that is symbolic to your marriage, next anniversary, Valentine's day, etc. Maybe put the money into a trip somewhere for your husband and you (if possible, of course) or something else that will work for you!

Unless you are pressed for space, I would keep it. I sold the wedding dress from my first marriage after we were divorced, but I would NEVER sell the dress from my current marriage. Your daughter may, or may not want to wear the dress, but it's wonderful to have the option. Not many young brides can choose to wear the dress their mom wore to marry the man she is still with!

I am keeping my wedding dress even if my daughter does not want to wear it. That dress has meaning to me and I would never sell it. Do you need the money if so then yes sell it.

You know, if you have a chance to, do it. There's really no reason to hang onto it - mine is hanging in a closet, too. It's absolutely beautiful, and cost a lot, but I've come to think of it as - it was awesome for the one day, but it really makes no sense to just have it there. If someone else can use it, it's good for them.

I wouldn't sell it. Due to the style and trends of wedding gowns changing so often.
I would however consider making them into pillows for my bed. Or what about a christening gown for your first "anticipated" grandchild. That would be a really nice gift for your children.
Christening gowns made from their Mom's wedding dress.

If you really want to sell it, try ebay or a consignment shop. But you sound like you kind of want to hang on to it for sentimental reasons. If it's just hanging in your basement and not in the way, hang on to it.

I would keep it for your daughters. Even if it is not in style anymore they can take it and have it altered or just use some of the material to create their own dress.
