There are graduations every week from Marine Corps Boot Camp, at both MCRD San Diego and MCRD Parris Island.

Depending on when your plane arrives, will determine how long you wait before your final Drill Instructors pick up their platoon.

Actual arrival and departure dates for Marine Corps boot camp are never published, as they don't have to be. When I arrived in boot camp in the early 80's, we were sent to a receiving barracks, where we waited until there were enough "boots" (enlistees) to start the platoons training. So, while some "boots" got there early, others got there late. Some waited several days, while others waited only hours, and sometimes minutes before they were finally assigned their Drill Instructors.

It really depends on when you arrive at either San Diego, or Parris Island MCRD. If you live west of the Mississippi River, you generally go to San Diego MCRD. If you live east of the Mississippi River, you go to PI.
