I usually have to leave early in the morning, so if I have a bowl of cereal, I'm starving my the time I get to university. I need some tasty, quick, preferable healthy ideas that I can use, something that will fill me and tide me over at least until mid-morning.

try a hot breakfast that usually contains heavier foods which last longer:
oatmeal
pancakes with bacon
eggs with sausage and/or toast
frozen foods you can microwave like jimmy dean, hot pockets, and other breakfast meals (my favorite is a pancake wrapped around a piece of sausage that looks like a corndog. it's quick, easy, cheap, and delicious)
also add fruit and/or yogurt as a healthy balance, or take it with you as a snack if you still get hungry before lunch
drinking lots of water during the day and having milk/juice with breakfast can also help keep you full

if that's too hard then try making your breakfast the night before then store it in the fridge to heat up in the morning. it may not be as fresh, but it will fill you up, last longer, and it's quick.

The secret to these is that you need to either a) slow down the egg as it falls or b) disperse the energy of the fall so that when the egg hits, it isn't shattered. Of course you knew that. Your design will certainly disperse the energy of the egg if it lands the way you expect it to. I think that the "design must allow for easy opening and inspection of the egg" might preculde you positioning the egg in the middle of the box where it will be most protected. Hmm.. I think I'd approach this challenge by building a structure out of toothpicks using the toothpicks to build a bunch of tetrahedrons. I'd combine them into a column and put a small weight at the bottom and then at the top I'd put in a place to set the egg and then secure it closed with like a paper clip or something. The thought is that the point of the structure will hit first and it will explode and disspipate the energy ... but I don't know if that will work.

Focus on getting a balance of protein, fat and carbohydrates (preferably a carb source low in sugar and high in fiber - bc that's more filling and healthy) such as:
- natural peanut butter on high fiber bread and an apple
- Kashi Go Lean cereal is GREAT. Put some in a sandwich bag w/a few nuts and that's a great snack.
- Even a couple of slices of cheese and deli meat on bread for a fairly healthy but filling b'fast.
- Eggs are one of my favorites. It only takes a few minutes to scramble them at home, they're super cheap and really stick with you!
Hope that helps.

Instant microwave oatmeal. It sticks to your ribs. Otherwise Kashi has a good line of cereals that really last you through the day. Don't eat too much though it is filling, and filled with fiber. But just beware, depends on your body, you might have to use the restroom, because fiber makes you want to go Number 2. But it really is a good cereal. That with a banana or Splenda.

I like breakfast pitas. I buy whole wheat, already opened, half pita shells. I scramble an egg and maybe a slice of ham with green peppers, and mushrooms put it in the pita, sprinkle a very small amount of cheese on the top and out a I go. Takes about 10 mins and its delicious, filling and healthy.

Get some protein for breakfast(like eggs), it will help keep you feeling full.

try pancake sandwiches..buy frozen, microwaveable pancakes. Nuke 2 of them for about 1 minute, spread one with some peanut butter and a few banana slices then top with the other pancake. My kids like to put a little chocolate syrup on them too.

Eggs!! they last the longest. try a feta, mint and pea omelete or scramble. just crack 3 eggs in a bowl, salt, pepper, chilli flakes if you like, crumble feta, few mints leaves and some cooked peas. heat oil/butter in pan, add ingredients and leave for omelete or mix til eggs are done for scramble. serve with bagel, and avocado. delicious and will def keep you going for lunch. its quicker than you think and you can alter the ingredients to your taste!!
