Domestic fruits and vegetables would be very expensive. Hotel rooms would be more expensive (and more dirty). Restaurants will close because they will not have enough cooks, waiters and waitresses. Businesses will be forced to clean their own spaces or pay more to have an American do the work. Convenience stores, fruit stands, gas stations would all close or run short handed. Small business, the backbone of our economy, will suffer. The consumer will end up paying a lot more for less.
Our economy will be in shambles as small businesses would be hurting. Inflation will be rampant because Americans won't work for the same pay an illegal would. Consumers will grumble and Washington will start pointing fingers.

It would be shaky for a few months but then employers would hire and train Americans and they would do the job just as well or better. They would cost a little more, but would spend ALL of that in America. By the end of the first year or big shopping season ie Christmas, you'd see an improvement in the economy. At the end of 5 years there'd be no doubts left. Poor Americans would love you for it.

For one illegal immigration would greatly decrease. Forget putting up a wall, fine the crap out of business's that hire illegal immigrants and the border issue would not be as big a problem.

The void always appears to be filled. Jobs means less unemployment and, if someone does not accept a job offered (even if it's temporary), no benefits should be given to that individual.

Taking about 7 millions workers out of the economy one fine Monday morning would throw the country into chaos, if not outright recession, as essential goods, services, and jobs are disrupted and lost.
The idea is absurd on the face of it and that's why nothing of the sort is EVER going to happen. Thinking it or something like it will happen is just the latest pipe dream.
Personally, I like my dreams to have happier endings.

Unemployment would go down, more tax money would be poured into the government, and more dollars would stay here in our country.
