I need some new ideas for heading back to university. I usually leave early in the morning, so I need something that will last in my bag for a few hours without being squished or going soggy. And not PB&J or lunch meats. I am so sick of those after some 15 years. Also, what about snack ideas? Just something to tide me over in between classes.

I have found wraps hold up well.

Try this one:

Sun-dried tomato tortilla
Smear with onion and chive cream cheese
Layer with turkey
half cherry tomatoes
chopped romaine lettuce
Provalone slices
Alfalfa sprouts
Drizzle of ranch dressing.

Wrap like a burrito and wrap again tightly in plastic wrap. Stays nice for hours.

You know what I used to was make a bagel sandwich.
You get a bagel put some mayo on both sides, lettuce tomato and cheese, and some onion if you want. add some spices. and there ya go! The bread doesnt get soggy since its a bagel, and you can always use so many different flavor bagels!
For snacks I would usually just get some of 100 calorie nabisco snack packs, those are great!

As far as sandwiches try a toasted bagel with garden vegetable cream cheese, parsley sprouts, a meat if you need to, and avocado. Freeze and by lunchtime it will be thawed out ready to eat. Meatloaf sandwich, steak sandwich, bbq chicken sandwich(all made with leftover meat from prior dinners). Snack-chex mix has a new one with chex, walnuts, yogurt, apples and cinnamon. Also popcorn mixed with doritos(honest, try it!)

An apple carrot sticks tuna fish sandwich (you said no lunch meats or PB & J so if you hate tuna, sorry) and raisins...I like chocolate chip granola bars but that's me..
