You need image-mounting software.

I will explain to you what this software does, but first it is important to tell you what an ISO file is.

An ISO file is an exact 'image' of the cd/dvd that originally contained the game. You can create ISO's from any cd or dvd, and (in most cases where the copy protection didn't cause any trouble) you would have an eact copy of all the data conatined on the cd, in one single file.

These ISO files (or MDS with a CUE sheet file) can then be:
1) Burnt to a blank disc using Nero or Alcohol 120%
2) "Mounted" on a "Virtual" cd- or dvd-drive, and your computer will think you just 'put the cd into the cdrom'.

Now for the software.

I personally use software package called "Alcohol 120%", and have found it to have excellent features, it's easy to use and reliable.

What Alcohol does:
1) Creates a VIRTUAL cd/dvd drive on your computer. This fools the computer into thinking that you have another cd/dvd drive, and you can even see it when you click on My Computer.

2) Mounts (Loads) the CD/DVD Images (ISO files) onto that Virtual drive.

The computer is fooled into thinking that you have the cd/dvd of the game, and hence it starts up on your screen as usual.

Hope that helps. Alcohol 120% needs to be purchased, but Daemon Tools can do the same thing (I don't know about its licence, so go check out google for more information)

Hope that helps!

Get Daemon Tools...it creates a virtual DVD-ROM drive that you can then mount the .ISO file to. It's very easy and works great.

You could turn the .iso into a virtual drive if you have enough disc space. May mean purchasing software to do this though.
