If he loves you back, then he will probably be really excited to hear those words. Sometimes people have a hard time saying it and are relived when the other person says it first. I told my BF first and after that, he kept asking me to say it. Over and Over again. And kept saying really, are you lying to me.. He was happy. Who knows what to expect after you say it. I guess you are just going to have to do it to find out. Things should change once you say it, but only for the better. If it is for the worse then the other person does not feel the same way, but your better off knowing how he feels anyway. But I say go for it. Its how you feel.

I feel a guys' ego is happy to hear that, but their 'fun of romancing' a girl may vanish at the same time. I feel, for a girl it is better to show in subtle ways that she loves him, as those words are just that..'words'! If mere actions are getting the right results why waste precious feelings by putting them into mere words? But there can be a magic moment when you may want to say it so spontaneously that you may say the words without thinking so much. That should be 'HOT' :-)..even for him!

There's no universal response to that for a man. Personally, I think "love" is a crock of crap, an unhealthy need that usually doesn't last long. For other men, they may be anything from flattered to welcoming and ready to respond in kind. I guess that's not much help, but it's more or less the truth. You just have to decide whether to stick your neck out.

You have been dating a year and still have not told him you love him. Believe it or not a secure man that cares for a woman likes to here his special lady cares for him in that way. I am sure he shows you in many ways he loves you, correct? As do you show him as well. If it is what you are feeling tell him it might be just what he is feeling as well. Never hide your feelings about a man, because I good man will respect your true feelings always.

It may just be me, but .... If you have made it clear that you would not be shocked, and in fact, would like it if he said, "I love you," then I am of the mind he should tell you first. IF you say this, you can scare him away, or he may say, "I love you too," but you will never know if it was hollow or not....tough question. But, men have not changed ... They still want to do the chasing..be very careful here. I don't advise it. If he cannot say it, then he may not feel it. Good luck.

If you have been dating for over a year, it's good to tell him. Is he doesn't love you after a year, why would you even stay together?

it depends if he feels it's too soon and completely random. A spur of the moment comment or expression such as this woudl really freak me out if I had spent very little time with someone.
