Parents! What are your thoughts about your children masturbating?

Are there advantages and disadvantages to children masturbating? What are they?

This is a serious question raising serious issues. I don't find this question easy to ask. I'm not asking to get some kind of jolly out of it. Thanks!

I asked this question because my parents did not interfere with my masturbating as a child even as early as third grade. I suppose they treated my other siblings similarly.

I learned from yoga that masturbation or just sex is not good for the health of the child, not their moral adjustment nor the health of their neuronervous system.

Of course, there is the advantage of keeping your child at home rather then them possibly finding a real girl or boy to try sex on. But, I just don't think that it is always true that if a child is not allowed to masturbate that they will automatically go looking for someone to have sex with.

It is simply that there are better more intelligent and healthier things your child could be doing rather than masturbating. And which children are more successful, the ones who masturbate or the ones that don't masturbate?

I dont think about it much, I really dont like the idea of my daughter doing this but I am sure she does. I just feel its something only adults should do, even though yes I did it as a child. It just dont seem right for my kids to...you know?

I think it is their business and perfectly normal as long as they are not doing at dinner time at the table or daddy is helping.
I raised sons, and step daughters. They all masturbated, I am sure, as did their fathers and me. I don't have it on film, but I am fairly certain. I started at nine and continue 'til today.
It is a DEFINITE advantage to early activity with other people. It is better by far than disease, bad reputations, babies, and constant preoccupation with your state of horniness. In my case it was far better than dating geezers, who think that if you are divorced that you can't live another second without their attention.
The disadvantage would be falling in love with your hand.

Would you rather they be out having sex with a bunch of random people instead? Possibly unprotected? Just let them do what they are gonna do. It's something that everyone does. Don't get involved with it. Your kids are entitled to some of their own privacy too.

I would tell them not to touch in public or around anyone...then what they do privately like that is their own business. Kids are going to want to figure out their bodies anyway.
