Depending on what qualification you want?

Simple MOS buy the step by step books and simply pay for the exam.

For MCSE you could do the same, but tutor support is helpful, although with the number of forums out there you can still do the same.

Every IT qualification has a study book, and you are able to simply work through them yourself and then just pay to sit the exam.
