I think it would be because you are breaking the fast from the night. Plus the meal that you take at that time of day is known as breakfast.

breakfast would mean that you were breaking a fast. so its breakfast if you haven't eaten in a lengthy amount of time. It doesn't matter if you slept but if you ate during the night. if you have eaten within a couple hours its not breakfast

The longest amount of time to pass before eating your next meal is typically the time between going to bed having your first meal of the next day. This would be considered 'fasting'. (not eating)

So even if you didn't sleep, as long as you fasted for a period of time before 'breaking' that fast, you should still be able to call it 'break-fast' :)

The act of not eating is called "fasting". So, conveniently, in the morning, you wake up and you are breaking your nighttime fast.

Likewise, if you didn't sleep, but didn't eat, you're still breaking the fast.

If you did... well, it's just a convenient way to say the 'morning meal'

yup,

Probably because its a fast break, whereas lunch you take too long because you have that time of ;) and dinner just takes too long to cook etc.

For breakfast you can have porridges that cook in 1 and a half minutes or cereal

Technically every thing you eat is breakfast because when you aren't eating you are fasting. Therefore, when you eat again you are 'breaking' that 'fast'. Amn't I right?
