You're assuming people (women especially) actually know what they want.
First girl says, "a nice guy". Uh, yeah right. I guarantee three-six months from when she finds him, she'll be bored of her "nice guy" and finding herself drawn to some rough, attractive, aloof jerk. Others say, "honesty", "respect" and "someone who likes me for my brains" all the while they keep going out with guys that lie to them and treat them poorly.
Most people haven't a clue what they really want. It's up to you to try to read your lady, and give her what she subconsciously desires.

Everyone has their own issues stowed away in their brains. These are the issues that the outside world doesn't usually see. Women that we view as attractive might have some unseen demon chasing them towards a goal only they know about. We never know what secrets are hidden inside people....

I know for me, when I was single I always found the attention bothersome because the7y didn't care what I had to say or what I felt, all they cared about was how good I looked. I married a man shorter than myself and to most people, below average in looks, but he treats me well, admires my brains more than my looks and THAT is what I wanted in a guy!

Alot of the time they really wish people would get to know them and their personality instead of always seeing nothing but what's on the surface.
